Paige VanZant would fight Ronda Rousey on one condition

Paige VanZant has a strange history with former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
While VanZant has never had a bad word to say about Rousey, an altercation occurred earlier this year when the former champion confronted the top 10-ranked strawweight at a Reebok sponsored event where both were in attendance.
It seems Rousey was not happy that VanZant congratulated Holly Holm on her knockout victory at UFC 193, which led to her unleashing a few harsh words at the 22-year old competitor.
For her part, VanZant played down the incident and hoped there was no bad blood with Rousey and due to the fact that they compete in different weight classes it wasn't like the altercation was ever going to lead to a fight.
Well, not likely anyways.
VanZant told TMZ earlier this week that there is a way she'd be willing to fight Rousey, but it would require the former Olympic bronze medalist to drop a lot of weight to make it happen.
"If she wants to meet me at 125 (pounds)," VanZant said. "I would have to go up. I would consider going up to 125. It's not that big of a weight gain for me.
"We'll see if we meet at 125."

The likelihood that VanZant would ever actually meet Rousey in the Octagon is rather slim but it's not impossible. Rousey's nutritionist Mike Dolce has mentioned in the past that he believes she could cut down to 125 pounds if that weight class existed, although it's tough to tell if she would ever actually shed that much weight for any fight.
First things first, Rousey has to get past current bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on Dec. 30 before she can even contemplate what comes next.
While she has been out of action for over a year, VanZant believes Rousey has what it takes to get the job done to regain the title she defended six times before losing to Holm in 2015.
"I would say Ronda by armbar," VanZant commented.
Win or lose, Rousey has said the fight with Nunes will be one of the last handful of times she steps into the Octagon as she begins to wind down her fighting career.
Rousey has stated that she doesn't expect the fight with Nunes to be her last, but there won't be many more past that one and VanZant understands why the former champion would want to walk away now rather than later.
"I think it could be her last fight. It's a big deal for her but she's so successful outside of fighting that she doesn't need to fight anymore," VanZant said.
"It's such a violent sport and it takes a lot out of you so either way she's had a very successful career."
VanZant headlines this weekend's FOX UFC Fight Night card from Sacramento with the main card kicking off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
