Joanne Calderwood out; Rose Namajunas faces Paige VanZant in December

A change has been made to the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on Dec. 10 as Joanne Calderwood has been forced out of her main event bout against Paige VanZant with former "Ultimate Fighter" finalist Rose Namajunas stepping in as a replacement.

UFC officials announced the switch on Wednesday.

Sources speaking to FOX Sports indicated that Calderwood suffered an injury in training that forced her out of the upcoming fight.

As for Namajunas, she accepts the fight just a few weeks after her latest win where she submitted former "Ultimate Fighter" housemate Angela Hill at UFC 192 in Houston.

It was Namajunas' first fight back after falling to Carla Esparza in the show finale in December 2014. Prior to the loss, Namajunas won her first three fights on "The Ultimate Fighter" with victories over Alex Chambers, Joanne Calderwood and Randa Markos.

VanZant vs. Namajunas will headline the UFC Fight Night card taking place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Dec. 10, airing exclusively on UFC Fight Pass, which kicks off a three day, three-event stretch for the promotion ending on Saturday night with UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor.
