Jim Miller takes submission win over black belt Fabricio Camoes

After struggling in his last match, Jim MIller fell to the outer edges of the UFC’s top 10 lightweights. A perennial contender, Miller needed a statement win over an opponent, Fabricio Camoes, that most believed he had significantly outgunned.
He got it. Miller needed just 3:42 to force the third-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt to tap to an arm bar in a UFC 168 main card lightweight matchup.
“We’ve worked on staying calm, being a technician,” he said afterward. “You’ve seen me fight aggressive, like and animal. You’ve seen Mr. Hyde. But tonight I wanted to bring out Dr. Jekyll. He’s a killer, too.”
Camoes had taken Miller down seconds before the finish, but Miller quickly transitioned. Initially, Camoes indicated that he was OK, but Miller stayed on it and forced the tap.
Miller’s last fight came at UFC 159 in April, when he lost a decision to Pat Healy in a fight that was later changed to a no contest after Healy tested positive for marijuana in a post-fight screening. He’s now 23-4 with 1 no contest.
Camoes, who was fighting for the first time since July 2012 due to a torn ACL, has now lost two straight, dropping to 14-8-1.
