Frankie Edgar-Cub Swanson, Bobby Green-Edson Barboza headline Austin event

Business just picked up deep in the heart of Texas.

The two headliners for UFC Fight Night on FOX Sports 1 in Austin on Nov. 22 were announced Wednesday on UFC Tonight -- and boy are they doozies. Frankie Edgar will take on Cub Swanson in what will likely be a featherweight title eliminator in the main event. In the co-main, Bobby Green meets Edson Barboza in a serious lightweight contender.

Edgar (17-4-1), the former UFC lightweight champion, is coming off a dominant third-round submission victory over B.J. Penn at the Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale in July. He has won two straight after falling to Jose Aldo in a featherweight title bout in February 2013 and is gearing up for another run at the belt. The 32-year-old is one of the toughest, scrappiest fighters in UFC history, known for taking big damage and coming back.

Swanson (21-5) was supposed to be the No. 1 contender for the featherweight belt, but when Aldo got hurt and his fight with Chad Mendes was pushed to October, Swanson opted to compete again before the title shot. The 30-year-old Jackson-Winkeljohn product is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Jeremy Stephens and has won six straight. A win will almost certainly get him the Aldo-Mendes winner with the belt on the line.

Swanson is ranked No. 2 and Edgar is No. 3 among featherweight contenders.

Speaking of winning streaks, there are few fighters in the UFC hotter than Green (23-5), who has won eight straight. "King" is coming off the biggest victory of his career over Josh Thomson by unanimous decision in July on FOX. The 28-year-old is ranked No. 7 among lightweight contenders.

Barboza (14-2) is another rising lightweight contender. He has won three of four fights and is coming off a first-round TKO victory over Evan Dunham in July. The 28-year-old Brazilian, ranked No. 11 among lightweight contenders, has arguably the nastiest leg kicks in all of MMA.

UFC Fight Night on FOX Sports 1 from the Frank Erwin Center will also feature a key flyweight bout between Joseph Benavidez and Dustin Ortiz.
