FOX UFC Saturday returns to San Jose's SAP Center on July 26

The UFC will return to San Jose with an upcoming FOX UFC Saturday card landing at the SAP Center on July 26.
UFC heavyweight champion and local favorite Cain Velasquez made the announcement about the new card while serving as an honorary guest of the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night where he dropped the puck for their game against the Winnipeg Jets.
This will be the fourth time the UFC has visited the SAP Center in San Jose, the last of which took place April 20, 2013 when Benson Henderson defended his lightweight title against local favorite Gilbert Melendez. The historic first fight between Dan Henderson and Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua at UFC 139 in 2011 also took place in San Jose.
The California city has become a hot bed for mixed martial arts over the last few years, most notably by the growth of American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), a top fight school based in San Jose. AKA has produced some of the best talent in the UFC including Velasquez, top five-ranked light heavyweight Daniel Cormier as well as Josh Thomson, Luke Rockhold, and Ultimate Fighter season 1 alums Mike Swick and Josh Koscheck.
The FOX UFC Saturday card on July 26 will be the 12th event aired on the network and the third event on FOX for 2014.
No fights have been announced for the upcoming FOX UFC Saturday card in San Jose, but dates for tickets to go on sale as well as a main event for the show will be determined in the coming weeks.
Ticket sales will be available soon and when announced can be purchased here.
