St. Louis selected to host US-France in Fed Cup

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis has been selected to host a Fed Cup playoff between the United States and France with a spot in the World Group on the line.

The U.S. Tennis Association on Thursday announced that the playoff will be held on April 19-20 at Saint Louis University. The playoff winners will advance to the World Group in 2015. The losers play in World Group II.

Team Captain Mary Joe Fernandez says the available players include Venus and Serena Williams. In February, the U.S. Fed Cup team lost to Italy 3-1 in a Cleveland quarterfinal with a team of three Fed Cup rookies.
