Serena walks across court to hug Kerber after losing Australian Open final

Serena Williams suffered a harsh, draining defeat in Saturday's Australian Open final, falling one set short in her bid for a 22nd career Grand Slam title.

But she showed a solid bit of class to victor Angelique Kerber, who was experiencing the sweet sensation of a Slam win for the first time in her life. Seconds after her volley attempt flew long to hand the match to Kerber, Serena walked across to the other side of the court to hug the newest member of the Grand Slam club:

Nice move by Serena, who is not particularly accustomed to losing in Grand Slam finals. She's 21-5 in those all-time.

"You really deserved it," Williams told Kerber during the post-match interview. "You played the best in the tournament. ... I'm so happy for you, and I really hope you enjoy this moment."
