Roger Federer: 2017 ATP World Tour performance predictions

Roger Federer is among the best all-around tennis players in the sport. Despite missing much of the 2016 season, he will enter the 2017 ATP World Tour determined to win.

Roger Federer missed much of 2016 due to a knee injury.

The injury contributed to a rare season where the Swiss player did not earn an ATP World Tour title. That will change in 2017 when Federer returns to action.

Federer ended his season after a semifinals birth at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships. Since his stepping away from the game, he has shown an eager interest to return to the court healthy and ready to win in the upcoming season.

The tennis world was also without Federer’s friend and rival Rafael Nadal for much of 2016. These two superstars will create fantastic fields in 2017’s major tournaments. The Swiss superstar has 4 Australian Open titles to his name. His real favorite Grand Slam, however, is Wimbledon.

Federer has amassed 7 Wimbledon titles, including the most recent of any of his Grand Slam titles in 2012. He is due to win a major tournament and that tournament ought to be the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Look for him to make a deep run at next year’s Wimbledon.

He will have to face the likes of new world number 1 Andy Murray and Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic. Tennis fans mention the “Big Four” and talk of whether or not Federer can still contend enough to be considered within the four. There is no doubt, however, that a healthy Roger Federer not only deserves to be considered among the best in men’s tennis, but will prove himself to be. Federer posts an astounding 1,080-245 career singles record that includes 88 titles.

After going through a shortened 2016 season without a title, look for Federer to win at least 3 titles on the ATP World Tour this coming year. He will also likely add at least 1 Grand Slam title to his record book. Check back for updates on his progress.
