Mathieu withdraws from Paris Masters

Published Nov. 5, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Paul-Henri Mathieu has withdrawn from the Paris Masters with a left knee injury.

Organizers say Mathieu, who had been granted a wild card, has been replaced in the draw by fellow Frenchman Nicolas Mahut.

Mathieu, who reached a career-best ranking of No. 12 two years ago, has dropped to 108th and is not considered a candidate for France's team for the Davis Cup final against Serbia in Belgrade from Dec. 3-5.

The Paris Masters starts on Sunday.
