It's a girl! Andy Murray, wife Kim Sears welcome first child


Tennis pro Andy Murray can now add father to his list of accomplishments.
The 2013 Wimbledon champion and his wife, Kim Sears, celebrated the birth of their first child this weekend. And it's a girl!
"Andy and Kim had a daughter in the early hours of Sunday morning, and the family are doing well," Murray's agent told BBC in a statement.
Murray, 28, married longtime girlfriend Sears last April, and the couple announced that they were expecting in August.
The No. 2-ranked Murray, who had said he would withdraw from the Australian Open and fly home if Sears went into labor, made it to the end of the tournament before ultimately falling to Novak Djokovic in the final.
