Federer, Soderling outlast tough semifinal foes

After the remarkable Robin Soderling had recovered from a 1-4 fifth-set deficit against Fernando Gonzalez to become one of the least likely Grand Slam finalists of recent years, Roger Federer lit up a chilly, overcast evening on Court Philippe Chatrier by outplaying a gallant Juan Martin del Potro from the unenviable position of two sets to one down to reach his fourth consecutive French Open final.
