Wolfsburg's Koo Ja-cheol suffers ankle injury

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg says South Korean midfielder Koo Ja-Cheol has suffered an ankle injury.

The club said on its website Wednesday that the 22-year-old took a knock in training that tore a ligament in his left ankle.

The injury is likely to rule Koo out for weeks.

Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath told reporters ''we'll have to wait and see whether he join us again next week (for training).''

Koo is definitely ruled out of Wolfsburg's game at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Friday.

Magath said Patrick Ochs ''is on the line'' for the game after thigh problems disrupted the former Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder's participation in training on Tuesday and Wednesday.
