Franco Di Santo lifted Wigan out of the English Premier League's relegation zone with a second-half equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Fulham on Saturday.

The Argentina striker made the visitors' pressure count when he cut in from the left and unleashed a fierce drive into the corner in the 71st minute.

Giorgos Karagounis's stunning strike, which went in off the post, had given Fulham a 22nd-minute lead and made it two goals in two games for the Greece midfielder.

However, Wigan deservedly claimed a point, which allowed Roberto Martinez's team to climb above Aston Villa on goal difference into 17th place in the standings.
