Claudio Pizarro scored one goal and set up another as Werder Bremen continued their dominance at home with a convincing 4-1 victory over Wolfsburg, who remain the worst away team in the Bundesliga.
Sokratis gave Bremen the lead after 18 minutes and Pizarro made it 2-0 in the 45th minute.
Markus Rosenberg's goal in the 55th minute finished off Wolfsburg and Marko Arnautovic joined the scoring sheet in the 71st minute. Marcel Schafer scored a consolation goal for Wolfsburg in the 86th minute.
Bremen are the best home team in the league with seven victories in eight matches and remained among the leaders with 29 points.
Wolfsburg have collected just five points away from home and just one in the last eight away contests to remain on 17 points.
Bremen grabbed the lead after 18 minutes from a set piece with Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio stopping Pizarro's header but the ball bounced directly to Sokratis, who hit home the loose ball.
The hosts should have doubled their lead after 38 minutes from a counter-attack but Florian Trinks shot over from seven yards out from a pass by Markus Rosenberg.
Bremen went 2-0 ahead in the 45th minute after a throw-in from the left side with Pizarro dancing through the poor Wolfsburg defence and beating Benaglio at the post for his 12th goal of the season.
Wolfsburg scored a goal just two minutes into the second half but it was disallowed due to offside.
Werder decided the game in their favour in the 55th minute with Philipp Bargfrede feeding Rosenberg down the right and the Sweden international fending off Schafer before beating Benaglio at the far post.
The hosts' attack was relentless but Rosenberg's long blast hit the post in the 68th minute.
But the lead was 4-0 in the 71st minute as Pizarro fed Arnautovic in the box and the Austrian blasted past Benaglio.
Schafer scored a consolation goal in the 86th minute for Wolfsburg.
