Watch: Gareth Bale scores first-minute, long-range golazo vs. Legia Warsaw
It didn't take Gareth Bale long to score a phenomenal goal on Wednesday. Unfortunately, there were no fans in the stands to see it.
Playing in an empty stadium after Legia Warsaw was disciplined for fan behavior during the Champions League, Bale turned in a long-range beauty in the first minute to give Real Madrid a 1-0 lead in their group-stage match.
The lengthy sequence to open the game reached its climax when Cristiano Ronaldo flicked on a cross toward Bale. With one swing of his left leg, Bale belted it into the upper right-hand corner of the net, proving his worth after signing a contract extension through 2022 that makes him the world's highest-paid player.

Defending champion Real Madrid can clinch a place in the knockout stage with a win and if Sporting Lisbon fails to defeat Borussia Dortmund in Germany on Wednesday.
