Watch Douglas Costa send Bayern Munich top of the Bundesliga with an absurd screamer

Bayern Munich beat Darmstadt, 1-0, to go top of the table, but it was anything but easy to grab all three points against the Bundesliga bottom-dwellers. It took Bayern a full 71 minutes to get the winning goal, and even then, it took some a moment of pure magic to make it happen. And magic it was.

Douglas Costa collected a short free kick, found himself in some space, and absolutely unLEASHED an unstoppable left-footed piledriver that flew straight to its home in the upper corner, undeterred by the crossbar's attempts to keep it from achieving its mission. The goalkeeper didn't even have a little bit of a chance. His feet were set, he saw it the whole way, and even then, he didn't have a snowflake's chance in hell at keeping this one out.

This has to be up there for one of the best distance strikes of the year, if not in the running for best goal of the year.

Douglas Costa, go ahead and take your bow. You've earned it.
