Villas-Boas to make keeper call
Paul Scholes will miss Manchester United's Premier League encounter with West Ham.
The veteran midfielder is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season at the weekend and his place goes to Anderson, who impressed as a second-half substitute against QPR.
Antonio Valencia (hip) has an outside chance of being fit for the leaders, but fellow winger Nani remains sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are available after being unused substitutes against QPR, while David de Gea was also on the bench for the 3-1 win after a recent problem with his wisdom teeth.
Midfielder Mark Noble is suspended for West Ham's trip to Old Trafford after accumulating five yellow cards.
Left-back George McCartney is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury against Tottenham and midfielder Yossi Benayoun is still not available as he looks to overcome a thigh problem.
Midfielder Jack Collison (knee) and forward Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder) are also ruled out.
Since signing France international Hugo Lloris from Lyon over the summer, Villas-Boas has rotated his shot-stoppers in domestic and European competition.
Brad Friedel has been favoured in Premier League action, with Lloris forced to make do with sporadic run-outs in the Europa League.
However, Lloris was handed a starting berth for Sunday's 3-1 victory over capital rivals West Ham United and Villas-Boas has now hinted that the number one jersey could be his for keeps.
"The main thing here is both keepers have been doing extremely well," said the Portuguese tactician.
"We've been shifting the keepers not on bad performances but on good performances.
"We want to give them a run of continuity for them to feel stabilised. It's important for them and for the team too."
