Valencia enters La Liga's top four
A late goal from Jordi Alba earned Valencia a narrow win at Real Zaragoza which took them into the top four in the Primera Division.
The 22-year-old, who is reportedly a target of Barcelona and Manchester United, found the target eight minutes from time to hand Unai Emery's men their fifth league win of the campaign.
Valencia arrived at La Romareda hoping to perform considerably better than they had on their previous two visits there, having lost 3-0 the season before last and then been thumped 4-0 last term - their heaviest defeat since 2008.
They came close to scoring after just five minutes tonight when Dani Parejo tried his luck from 20 yards with a left-footed strike which went narrowly wide.
Zaragoza improved as the half wore on, with Helder Postiga twice drawing saves from goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, but it was a largely disappointing 45 minutes short on chances at either end.
Valencia looked lively after the restart and Zaragoza goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez was called on to make his first real save of the match within three minutes, getting his hands to a testing free-kick from Ever Banega.
The visitors threatened again after 60 minutes with Roberto again doing well to turn away a powerful volley from Roberto Soldado.
Zaragoza responded after 73 minutes with a long-range strike from Leonardo Ponzio, which whizzed past the left post.
And four minutes later the hosts were unfortunate not to be in front when Javier Paredes saw his shot from near the penalty spot cleared off the line by Valencia defender Bruno.
The chance - and the player - came back to haunt Zaragoza eight minutes from time as Bruno whipped in a cross which was smashed home from close range by Alba.
