USMNT heading to rowdy Jacksonville for crucial September World Cup qualifier

The United States will play their final World Cup qualifier of the semifinal round in Jacksonville, FL. The federation announced Everbank Field as the site of the September 6 contest against Trinidad and Tobago, setting the Americans up to play a vital match in front of a terrific crowd.

The match is set for September 6 and it will be televised live on FS1.

Jacksonville has become one of the Americans' most dependably rowdy crowds. When the U.S. first played there for a 2012 friendly against Scotland, more than 44,000 fans showed up and the following year nearly 19,000 fans came out to see the women in a friendly. Most impressively, over 52,000 were on hand in 2014 when the Americans took on Nigeria in their final friendly before the World Cup. Jacksonville hasn't just turned up in numbers, they've been loud as well. Few places in the country are as good of a home to the U.S. and that's what the Americans are going to need when they take on Trinidad and Tobago.

The U.S. are struggling in the semifinal round of qualifying and when they get to the final match against the Soca Warriors, they may very well need a win to advance and avoid the humiliation of missing the 2018 World Cup. With all that on the line, they will need as much of a home-field advantage as possible and Jacksonville should give them that.
