West Ham triumphed 3-0 at Upton Park last weekend but Upson knows that result will have no bearing on their cup game.
Stoke have not lost at the Britannia Stadium this year and their supporters are amongst the most vociferous in the country.
And Upson acknowledges that revenge will be at the forefront of their minds after last week's defeat.
"It's going to be a very different game," he said.
"They're going to be really pumped up and come at us.
"It's up to us to deal with that and, again, be brave on the ball and pass the ball and move the ball - I'm really looking forward to it."
Stoke striker John Carew, meanwhile, is aiming to secure a third visit to Wembley within 12 months.
The 31-year-old was part of the Aston Villa team that were Carling Cup finalists and FA Cup semi-finalists last year.
"The club are one game away from an appearance at Wembley and to get there would be a fantastic achievement," said Carew.
"I got there with Aston Villa last season, so I would love to get there this year - that would be wonderful.
"We've got to play West Ham who beat us last weekend but we can beat anybody at home."
He added: "It is about looking forward now and I just want to make sure that I keep doing what the manager and the supporters expect from me."
