Two Danish men have been stabbed in Athens ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match between Panathinaikos and FC Copenhagen, according to the security chief of the visiting team.

Leif Bjoern, who is with the Copenhagen team in Athens, said in a telephone interview with Denmark's TV2 channel that one man was stabbed in the back and the other in the hand.

"Both have left the hospital and are back at their hotels. They are doing fine," Bjoern said Wednesday.

Greek police said a 27-year-old man was stabbed once in the back during a fight involving several people outside a bar before dawn. The circumstances of the incident are unclear and no arrests were made.

Bjoern said Greek police would escort Copenhagen's fans to the stadium for the match.
