Twente looking to extend lead

Twente have enjoyed a superb season, reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League and next month's KNVB Beker final, while the former Belgium international goalkeeper has the club on target to retain their Eredivisie title after moving to the summit with victory over PSV Eindhoven last weekend. "It's not that the players surprised me this season, but they continue to repeat the performance," Preud'homme said. "In the league, cup or Europe they always find the solution that ensures success. I hope it stays this way. "As a sportsman you want to win them all. If there is fatigue among the players, it can provide extra motivation for a victory." Twente winger Nacer Chadli believes the team will use last weekend's 2-0 success over title rivals PSV as motivation to continue their good form in the league. He said: "We are a leader in the Netherlands and we want to show that on the field." But if Twente slip up then PSV will be waiting to reclaim top spot as they are also at home, with mid-table Heerenveen the visitors. Feyenoord have spent the season struggling near the wrong end of the table and will look to ease their relegation worries with a win away to eighth-placed FC Utrecht. In the other Sunday game, third-placed Ajax could draw level on points with PSV if they can overcome sixth-placed FC Groningen, who will have their sights on AZ Alkmaar, two places above them in the final European qualification spot. But AZ could already be further ahead by the time Ajax play as they are in action on Friday night against NAC Breda. VVV Venlo look all but sunk and will be in desperate need of points at home to NEC Nijmegen, who are in 10th, on Saturday. Excelsior and De Graafschap will both be looking to pull away from the wrong end of the table, as will Vitesse Arnhem who will be out to dent the European ambitions of ADO Den Haag. Saturday's other fixture sees bottom side Willem II at home to Heracles Almelo.
