Graham Turner has already started plotting his Shrewsbury side's response to the disappointment of the weekend's 3-1 defeat at Walsall.
Turner slammed Town's display at the Banks's Stadium, labelling it "the most inept performance we have put in for a long time and probably our worst performance of the season".
He was adamant there were no excuses for the loss but instead attempted to look for possible reasons why his side were so lackadaisical.
The last-gasp midweek defeat to promotion-chasing Doncaster, where the Shrews played for an hour with 10 men, was cited as a potential factor.
"After we've got over the initial assessment of things, we'll begin to look and think, 'Has last Tuesday played a part?'. Personally, I don't think it has. I just think we've been brain dead at times and not worked hard enough," said the Shrews boss.
"While the game is fresh in our minds we'll examine the DVD and start to sort it out for next Saturday because we're in a precarious position, we know that, and you can't always play your way out of trouble at this stage of the season.
"You've got to work your way out of trouble and we didn't work hard enough to get ourselves anywhere near that result."
Striker Chris Porter missed the clash due to a hamstring injury but has a chance of being fit for Saturday's home encounter against Leyton Orient, as does winger Jon Taylor.
