The 23-year-old currently plays for Buenos Aires-based outfit Tigre and is reportedly set to become only the Toffees' second new arrival of the summer. The other was 17-year-old youngster Eric Dier, who is not expected to feature for the first team this campaign, with Toffees boss David Moyes instead spending most of his close-season fending off bids for his top players. With finances tight at Goodison Park and no funds available for new signings, Moyes has tried to keep his current squad intact, rejecting bids for the likes of Mikel Arteta and Phil Jagielka. However, the Scot could be springing a deadline day surprise by bringing in Stracqualursi to provide a much needed boost to his threadbare squad. Any deal for Stracqualursi could signal the departure of another forward, Jermaine Beckford, with Leicester agreeing a £4million fee with the Toffees for the former Leeds striker.
