Romanian club FC Timisoara has lost its appeal to sport's highest court against its exclusion from the Champions League and the country's top flight for failing financial tests.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport said Monday that it had dismissed Timisoara's challenge against UEFA and the Romanian Football Federation.
Timisoara finished runner-up in the Romanian league, but was later relegated after failing the federation's tests to receive a license for next season.
Timisoara's Champions League spot has gone to third-place Vaslui, which will play FC Twente in the third qualifying round.
CAS also rejected appeals by Bihor Oradea and Gloria Bistrita to stay in Romania's top flight after their licenses were withdrawn.
