A couple of thousand Botafogo fans have turned out to celebrate the arrival of Clarence Seedorf to Brazil.
The fans welcomed Seedorf at Rio de Janeiro airport on Friday, showing banners and yelling his name.
The Dutch midfielder waved to the nearly 2,000 supporters and draped a Botafogo flag on his shoulder.
Seedorf, who is married to a Brazilian, last week reached a two-year deal with the traditional Rio de Janeiro club.

Botafogo officials describe the transfer as the biggest by a foreign player in Brazilian club history.
The 36-year-old Seedorf played last season with AC Milan.
He won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995, Real Madrid in 1998 and Milan in 2003 and 2007. The midfielder played at the 1998 World Cup with the Netherlands.
