Team USA: Journey for Glory – Aug. 7 on FSC
Fox Soccer Channel presents a final look at the United States Men’s National Team’s inspiring performance during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and its potential impact on American interest in the sport during a 30-minute feature program Team USA: Journey for Glory.
The originally-produced special premieres Saturday, Aug. 7 at 9:30 p.m. ET, immediately preceding Fox Soccer Channel’s live telecast of the Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Real Madrid, a match featuring U.S. National Team members Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle as well as several players from Spain’s World Cup-winning squad such as Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso. Encore performances of Team USA: Journey for Glory air Sunday, Aug. 8 at 12:30 a.m. immediately after the Galaxy-Real Madrid showdown, as well as noon ET that day.
This half-hour exploration of American soccer showcases the 23 men who traveled to South Africa and became the first U.S. team to win its World Cup group in 80 years, and chronicles the United States’ 2010 World Cup run that came to a heartbreaking end in the Round of 16. That match was played in front of the largest domestic television audience ever to watch the Stars and Stripes.
Team USA: Journey for Glory features interviews and insights from players and coaches including Landon Donovan, Bob Bradley, Tim Howard, Jay Demerit and Clint Dempsey as well as former U.S. Men’s National Team coach Bruce Arena and Fox Soccer Channel personalities Warren Barton, Andy Gray, Eric Wynalda and Christopher Sullivan.

Team USA: Journey for Glory examines the elements that led to nationwide support during the World Cup, including the beginning of Major League Soccer, and showcases key highlights throughout the 2010 tournament.
