BERLIN (AP) Bundesliga relegation candidates Stuttgart and Werder Bremen failed to produce a winning goal Sunday in a 1-1 draw that suited neither side.
Stuttgart had the better start and Lukas Rupp put the home team ahead in the 33rd minute when he rifled the ball to the back of the net after Filip Kostic's cross.
Anthony Ujah equalized in the 71st when he was first to Clemens Fritz's blocked shot to slot the ball inside the right post.
Levin Oztunali struck the crossbar for Bremen late on before Stuttgart's Timo Werner forced a great save from goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald at the other end.
The result leaves Stuttgart in the relegation zone and Bremen just one point outside of it.
Eintracht Frankfurt hosted promoted Darmstadt later Sunday.
