Stoke set to appeal Cameron's red card against West Brom
Stoke are set to appeal Geoff Cameron's red card picked up during the 2-1 defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
Manager Mark Hughes confirmed the club are likely to appeal as he prepares for Stokes's Capital Cup semi-final first-leg clash with Liverpool on Tuesday.
Midfielder Cameron was shown a straight red card for pushing Claudio Yacob in the back of the neck and is facing a three-match ban if the Potters fail to overturn his dismissal.
Hughes said: "We'll have a look at that and decide whether or not to appeal but I think it's likely.
"It was unfortunate. I thought Geoff has reacted to a late challenge on a leg he injured in the first half. It is understandable to a certain extent.
"We weren't too happy with the reaction of the lad Yacob to be perfectly honest. I thought he has gone down with the intention of maybe getting Geoff sent off and unfortunately for us that's what he's able to do."
Jonny Evans capitalized on Cameron's card when he scored in stoppage time to give boss Tony Pulis a third straight win over his former club.
Jonathan Walters had equalized just two minutes before Cameron's 83rd-minute dismissal to cancel out Stephane Sessegnon's opening strike.
