Goalkeeper Apoula Edel will be in the spotlight for more than one reason when Paris Saint-Germain looks to book its place in the Europa League knockout stage by beating Sevilla on Thursday.
Sevilla lost 1-0 at home to PSG in September, then claimed Cameroon-born Edel was not eligible to play that match because of claims by his former agent that he plays for PSG under a false identity.
Sevilla, which leads Group J by one point ahead of PSG, lost its bid to overturn that result when UEFA's disciplinary panel rejected the appeal.
Edel played poorly at the start of the season, but had silenced his critics until an extraordinary blunder on Sunday night gifted Lyon a 2-2 draw that deprived PSG a chance to go top of the French league.
