Hercules has fired Esteban Vigo as coach following a 4-0 home loss to Osasuna, its ninth in 11 games to drop to last place in the Spanish league.
Hercules fired Vigo not long after Sunday's match.
After staying in the middle of the table during the first half of the season, Hercules has especially struggled away from Rico Perez stadium, scoring only one goal after inflicting Barcelona's sole home loss of the season in the second round.
Vigo joined Hercules at the beginning of last season, guiding the team to Spain's top flight for the first time since 1996-97.
Hercules is four points from safety with nine rounds to play.
