Seattle Sounders sign Andreas Ivanschitz from Levante

The Seattle Sounders have announced the signing of Austrian attacking midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz from La Liga side Levante.
Ivanschitz, 31, joins after spending two seasons with Levante. Prior to his time in Spain, Ivanschitz played for Greek side Panathinaikos from 2006-2009 before moving to Bundesliga side Mainz, where he scored 22 goals in 104 appearances.
"Andreas is a skilled and dynamic player that has proven his abilities in some of Europe's top domestic leagues and at the international level," Sounders general manager and president of soccer Garth Lagerwey said in a club release. "We're excited to bring him to Seattle and help him integrate into our attack as we head toward the stretch run of our season."
Internationally, Ivanschitz has been capped 69 times for Austria and has scored 12 goals. He was named the Austrian Footballer of the Year in 2003.
