Scorpions stun Dynamo 1-0 in US Open Cup

The San Antonio Scorpions beat the Houston Dynamo 1-0 in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup, scoring on a penalty kick by Hans Denissen on Tuesday night.
In their first year as a franchise, the Scorpions of the NASL outworked the veteran Dynamo of MLS in a physical game. Six yellow cards were assessed, including one that set up the goal in the 51st minute.
Scorpions forward Denissen's shot from 12 yards hit the top of the crossbar, bouncing down and into the goal past a diving Tyler Deric. The goal was set up when Dynamo defender Warren Creavalle took down Pablo Campos as he charged toward the net following a flip-kick pass over the defense by Scorpions teammate Kevin Harmse.
Scorpions goaltender Daryl Sattler had five saves, including two in the final minutes to preserve the victory.
