
Schalke beats Dortmund on penalties in Super Cup

Schalke defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-3 on penalties Saturday to win the German Super Cup after a 0-0 draw.
Kevin Grosskreutz missed Dortmund's third penalty and Ivan Perisic then failed to convert the Bundesliga champion's fifth to decide the shootout.
Lewis Holtby, Edu, Benedikt Howedes and Jose Jurado all converted their spot kicks for Schalke.
Dortmund dominated much of the fist half, and Sebastian Kehl's header his the post in the 24th minute.
Schalke had a good chance in the 74th when Jan Moravek missed from a narrow angle.
The game pits the German Cup winner against the defending Bundesliga champion to kick off the German football season.
