Sao Paulo express desire to bring Milan's Kaka back to the club
Sao Paulo's new president Carlos Miguel Aidar has expressed a desire to bring Kaka back to the club from AC Milan.
The Brazilian side sold the former World Player of the Year to Milan in 2003 and have seen him enjoy a decorated decade of football in Europe.
Now 32 years of age, a return to the club where it all started has been mooted for Kaka.
He only returned to Milan for a second spell, after four years at Real Madrid, in September 2013, but he has been unable to replicate past successes at the San Siro.
His performances have suggested that a recall to the Brazil national side could be on the cards ahead of a home World Cup, but Milan have only recently found top form and are guaranteed to miss out on a top-three finish.
It has been reported that Kaka has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave this summer if Milan fail to reach the UEFA Champions League, and Sao Paulo hope that will work in their favor.
Aidar is, however, aware that it will be difficult to compete financially with the other teams expected to show an interest when the transfer window re-opens.
He told Lancenet: "I would really like to bring Kaka back.
"He is the face of Sao Paulo - well educated, speaks well, plays well, scores goals, but we can't compete with the Arabs and the Chinese.
"If it becomes possible to bring him back, he will fit perfectly well at Sao Paulo."
