Sannino sacked as coach of Chievo
Serie A strugglers Chievo have parted company with coach Giuseppe Sannino after just four months in charge.
Sunday's goalless draw with AC Milan was not enough to save Sannino's post as it extended Chievo's winless run to eight games and left the Verona outfit at the foot of the standings, four points adrift of safety.
A statement from Chievo read: "Chievo announces it has parted company with first-team coach Giuseppe Sannino and his technical staff.
"The club wishes to thank the coach and his staff for the work, professionalism and dedication they have always shown and wishes them the best of luck in the future."
The Verona outfit have yet to confirm who will replace Sannino. Reports in Italy are linking Eugenio Corini with a return to Chievo, just six months after leaving the club by mutual consent having led the Flying Donkeys to a 12th-place finish last season.
Chievo have won just one and lost eight of their opening 12 games.
Lack of goalscoring has been Chievo's biggest problem this season with the Verona team having found the net seven times so far.
Chievo visit Hellas Verona in the city derby on November 23.
