Saint-Etienne has signed Serbian striker Danijel Aleksic after he impressed during a trial period.
The French club announced the deal on its website Wednesday, saying that the 20-year-old Aleksic has signed a 3 1/2 year contract after spending two weeks training with the club.
Aleksic has played once for Serbia, and he previously played for Italian side Genoa and on loan to German second-division club Greuther Furth.
Saint-Etienne coach Christophe Galtier says ''we saw a lot of qualities in him, Danijel is a bright prospect.''
