The South African Football Association says its team's crucial African Cup qualifier in troubled Egypt has been moved to a military stadium in Cairo.

SAFA said Thursday it had been informed by Egypt's FA that the June 5 game would now take place at the 22,000-seat Cairo Military Stadium and not the much bigger Cairo International Stadium.

The Cairo International Stadium saw a violent pitch invasion by home fans in a club game last month, one of a string of incidents of crowd trouble in north African football this year.

SAFA said recently it was receiving security advice ahead of the trip.
