Ronaldinho, Pirlo to skip Milan's trip to US

Injured Ronaldinho, forward Filippo Inzaghi, and midfielders Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini have been left out of AC Milan's squad to play a friendly against Panathinaikos in the United States.

Milan plays Panathinaikos at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan, on Friday.

The 22-man squad announced Tuesday includes Brazilian defender Thiago Silva and forward Alexandre Pato; midfielders Gennaro Gattuso and Mathieu Flamini; defender Gianluca Zambrotta; forward Marco Borriello; and goalkeeper Christian Abbiati.

After the trip, Milan returns home for 45-minute matches against Inter Milan and Juventus on Aug. 13, and friendlies against Juventus on Aug. 22 and at Barcelona three days later before their Serie A opener against Lecce on Aug. 29.
