New Coventry boss Mark Robins has pointed towards the likes of Norwich and Southampton as a blueprint for success.
The former Rotherham and Barnsley manager was handed the reins at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday, penning a three-year deal as he looks to embark on a huge project - with cash-strapped City winless from their opening seven matches as they find themselves in the third tier of English football for the first time since 1964.
There is no doubt Robins' task is tough, but fortunes can change in football very quickly and momentum is key - with Norwich and Southampton two recent examples of that having clinched successive promotions to take them from League One back to the Premier League.
"This is somewhere where we can build. It will take a while and the length of my contract reflects that but we want to put something in place that the fans can enjoy talking about with their friends again, not just now but in the future as well," Robins told the club's official website.
"Promotion will be everybody's aim. When I was growing up Coventry were a permanent fixture in the top league so that is the ultimate aim but we have to do it incrementally.
"You look at clubs like Norwich and Southampton who were in similar types of positions then all of a sudden things turned around, they got more out of their players and they ended up with two promotions and these things can happen. That's what we have to do, turn things around and make sure they go the other way."
