Goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez Gago has joined Zaragoza for a second stint after the Spanish club struck a 8.6 million euros ($12.3 million) deal with Benfica.

Zaragoza announced late Monday that the 25-year-old Spanish keeper had signed a five-year contract.

"I come with high hopes about the new project that is brewing at Real Zaragoza for next season,'' Roberto told the club's website.

"Zaragoza is my home. I am proud to come back here. I know many of my
team-mates and I feel very comfortable working with young players of such
quality.''

Roberto spent the 2009-2010 season on loan at Zaragoza before Atletico Madrid sold him to Benfica for a reported 8.5 million euros ($12.1 million) last summer.

Zaragoza opens the season at Levante on Aug. 21.

Last season, Zaragoza struggled to avoid relegation and finished in 13th place, two points above the drop.
