The Brisbane Roar go into Sunday's A-League grand final against Perth with a nine-game unbeaten streak against the Glory and are favored to make it two Australian football championships in succession.
Brisbane has beaten Perth in 13 out of 21 matches, with the Glory's last win over the Roar coming in the seventh week of the 2009 season at Suncorp Stadium.
On Sunday, a sellout crowd of 50,000 at the same venue will hope to watch the home team rebound from a 2-1 loss to South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai in an AFC Champions League match on Tuesday.
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou later admitted his team, which had a national record 36-match A-League unbeaten streak ended in December, needed to ''be a bit smarter'' to win in Asia.
The Glory are concerned over the fitness of Liam Miller and Andrezinho.
Brazilian attacking midfielder Andrezinho (Andre Luiz Rodrigues Lopes), who injured his groin in last week's preliminary final win over Central Coast, has failed to train all week.
Miller suffered a hamstring injury in training on Wednesday, but Perth coach Ian Ferguson said he's confident the former Manchester United midfielder will be fit to play.
He's not as optimistic about Andrezinho.
''Time will tell. Once he's on the training park, we'll see what happens,'' Ferguson said.
''Liam was more precautionary. He felt a bit tight in the hamstring and we just decided to pull him off the training track. The scans came back OK.''
Glory captain Jacob Burns said his team was ''over the moon'' to make the grand final.
Burns' successful penalty in the shootout against the Mariners sealed the win for Perth, and the 33-year-old said the team would be confident of a similar result if the grand final also went to penalties.
''I think in the finals, it's been a huge test of our character,'' Burns said.
''We've come from behind twice, we've gone through on penalties and we'd be more than happy to go through any way we can just to get our hands on that trophy.''
