Franck Ribery has admitted Bayern Munich are playing so badly they are in danger of not even qualifying for Europe next season.

Bayern, who on Monday announced they would be parting company with coach Louis van Gaal at the end of the season, have suffered three straight defeats in all competitions and lie fifth in the Bundesliga table.

They are three points ahead of sixth-placed Nurnberg with only the top five getting into Europe.

"This is something to be worried about," France winger Ribery said in quotes reported by L'Equipe.

"We are playing badly and, if it continues, we will lose everything and we will not even be in Europe."

Former Bayern goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, though, is convinced the impending departure of Van Gaal will not have a detrimental effect on the team.

The former Germany number one believes the players will still be fully motivated to qualify for the Champions League next season, not least because the final will be staged in Bayern's Allianz Arena.

The defending champions are five points off a Champions League place.

"It is always made out that the team is 100% dependent on the coach, but I cannot imagine a single player at FC Bayern wanting to go through the Europa League next season," he told Munich's Tz newspaper.

"The attraction of the Champions League, particularly with the 2012 final being in Munich, is immense.

"The players don't care less now who is their coach."

However, Kahn has recommended Bayern find a coach who will remain with the club in the long term from next season.

"They need to take their time and find a man who they can look for continuity with," he added.

"Bayern needs continuity again, none of this permanent changing of coaches.

"If you look at what has happened following the golden era of (Ottmar) Hitzfeld - (Felix) Magath, (Jurgen) Klinsmann, (Jupp) Heynckes, Van Gaal - that is too many coaches.

"Nobody knows better than the management of FC Bayern that continuity is extremely important in the coaching position."
