Reports: Ex Brazil star Socrates hospitalized

Local media say former Brazil captain Socrates is back in intensive care in hospital because of internal bleeding from the stomach.

It is the same problem that kept him hospitalized for more than a week less than 10 days ago.

The Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper and other Brazilian news outlets say Socrates was readmitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital late Monday. Reports said he would probably need an operation to contain the bleeding.

After leaving hospital last month, the 57-year-old Socrates publicly admitted he was a heavy drinker but pledged to stop drinking completely.
