Steve Ralston has signed with AC St. Louis of the new North
American Soccer League after a 14-year career with Major League
Soccer.
The 35-year-old St. Louis native signed Monday, becoming what
the new league said was the first MLS player to join a non-MLS
team. He will also serve as the club's assistant coach.
Team spokesman Tony Hubert said Ralston was an unrestricted
free agent after eight seasons with the New England Revolution.
Ralston is first in MLS games played with 378.
Ralston went to Oakville High School and Forest Park
Community College in St. Louis before going to Florida
International University.
The NASL was established in November with nine teams.
