Pepe and Helder Postiga scored a goal each Wednesday to give Portugal a 2-1 lead over Denmark at halftime at the European Championship.
Pepe met Nani's corner from the left wing with a glancing header in the 24th minute and set up the second from the right, hitting a low cross that Postiga turned in at the front post in the 37th.
Nicklas Bendtner pulled one back four minutes before halftime, heading into an open goal after Michael Krohn-Dehli headed across the goal from the back post.
Portugal is looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Germany in its opening Group B game. The Danes beat the Netherlands 1-0 in their first match.
