Poland defeats Ivory Coast 3-1 in friendly
Robert Lewandowski scored twice Wednesday to help give Poland a 3-1 win over Ivory Coast in a friendly and end an eight-game winless streak.
Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 19th minute by capitalizing on a mistake from Ivory Coast goalkeeper Daniel Yeboah and shooting from close range into the right corner of the net.
Ivory Coast equalized in the 45th through Gervinho. Ludovic Obraniak put Poland back in front in the 64th with free kick into the top left corner. Lewandowski added his second in the 80th after coming one-on-one with Yeboah.
It was the first game played in the Poznan stadium that will host games at the 2012 European Championship.
