Poland coach Franciszek Smuda says his contract ends with the European Championship and that his ''adventure with the national team is ending.''
Tournament co-host Poland was knocked out of Euro 2012 on Saturday after losing 1-0 to the Czech Republic.
Smuda brushed aside questions that he would step down after his team's failure to reach the quarterfinals, which was the minimum goal set by the Polish Football Federation.
But he said: ''I don't have to resign because I have a contract that runs through Euro 2012. ... The contract ends because I had an oral agreement with the head of the Polish FA and I know what will happen.''
He thanked the players, the Polish FA and the fans for their support.
