Paris Saint-Germain beat Lyon 2-0 to consolidate its place at the top of the French league on Sunday.
Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore opened the scoring after making a solo run down the left wing, outpacing defender Bakary Kone before guiding the ball between the near post and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the 64th minute.
Substitute Christophe Jallet sealed the win in the 90th with a volley beneath the crossbar following a free kick by Brazilian midfielder Nene.
PSG displayed all of its fire power, forcing Lloris into a series of saves. The France keeper used his leg to block an angled shot from winger Jeremy Menez in the 21st minute and punched a swerving, long-range drive by defender Diego Lugano over the bar in the 43rd.
Lyon also had scoring chances, but headers from Maxime Gonalons in the 33rd and from Bafetimbi Gomis in the 49th and 71st minutes were all off-target, with goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu looking stranded each time.
Kevin Gameiro also went close for PSG but the France international was denied by Lloris in the 70th, before sending a half-volley over the bar in the 79th.
Lyon slipped to third place, three points behind PSG.
Defending champion Lille beat Rennes 2-0 to make up ground in the title race, pulling within a point of Lyon.
Senegal striker Moussa Sow pounced on a loose ball to put Lille ahead after seven minutes and Florent Balmont doubled the lead in the 32nd by diverting home a free kick from Eden Hazard.
Meanwhile, Marseille's woes in the league continued as last year's runner-up was unable to beat lowly Brest at Stade Velodrome.
Romain Poyet benefited from a mistake by goalkeeper Steve Mandanda to open the scoring for Brest with a long-range drive after five minutes before Ghana winger Andre Ayew equalized in the 19th by converting a cross from Loic Remy.
