Pardew this summer drafted in Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan and Mehdi Abeid to join Hatem Ben Arfa on Tyneside and, with Cheick Tiote and Demba Ba also French-speaking, there is a growing Gallic influence at St James' Park. Whether they are French, African or Brazilian, it doesn't matter, they are just good players. "We happen to have a market in France which we know very, very well, and the players we have signed from there have been hugely successful so far."
